Hello! Welcome to Ivory Pumpkin. Here you'll find snippets of things that I like and, hopefully soon, of things that I've created. Please stay awhile and browse.

Ivory Pumpkin is now open for business!

I finally opened my Etsy store! It was a lot more work than I thought but, I'm glad I did it. I don't have too much up there now and, hope to have more soon including some hand knit items in time for the holidays. Here are a few of the items that are up for sale. Please visit me at www.ivorypumpkin.etsy.com

My Favorite Mug

I'm usually not into souvenir mugs. They always seem to end up at a Goodwill store. But, this is my favorite mug and will never go to a Gooodwill....

Sesame Street Vivaldi Flower Video

I first heard this music on Sesame Street about a jillion years ago. I think it was my first exposure to classical music. It's still one of my favorites. Have a lovely weekend everyone. Enjoy.....

The Granary Cemetery in Boston Massachussetts

Boston is one of the places I love to visit. Actually, just about any place in Massachussetts is my favorite place. Last summer we were at Cape Cod. Very, very americana. It was just before 4th of July and every house was decorated with red white and blue bunting, every business down town had an American flag waving in its window or door. In the parks there were baseball games (hubby is a big fan of the Cape Cod League games) and kids eating ice cream. It was almost kind of Norman Rockwell. I've just never seen that where I live here in the bay area. I loved it. The first time I went to MA was a few years ago in the winter time. A pretting time of year but, very very cold! The snow on the bare branches of the trees was eerie and pretty at the same time and, all of the houses were decorated with a candle in each window. My favorite of all places is Salem, Massachussetts. I felt like I came home even though I had never been there before. I've been to MA in the spring, summer and winter. It is my goal to spend at least a week in Salem during October and experience Haunted Happenings. Even though I'm a native Californian I get homesick for Boston and Salem. I know, sounds weird but, that's how it is. Anyhoo, here's a photo of the Granary Cemetary in Boston. One of the things I love about New England is all these little of cemetaries here and there. I love to explore them, yes because I'm weird that way but, they are also full of history. Paul Revere is buried at this location as well as Benjamin Franklin. Has anyone out there had the pleasure of attending Haunted Happenings in Salem? If so, please share. I would love to hear of your experience!

It's still summer.........

I am awaiting fall and the change of seasons but, summer is not over yet. Two years ago my mother took my sister and I to Hawaii. It was the first time to Hawaii for both my sister and I (mom has been going every year for the last 25 years or so, with my dad). It was truly a trip of a lifetime. As much as I love fall with its changing leaves and orange, red and golden colors, I fell in love with Hawaii too - it's beaches, the smell of the tropical flowers, the warm balmy weather and with the spirit of aloha. Here are a few photos of that trip two summers ago. Yes fall is coming but, let's remember summer with aloha.....

The Art of Paulina Cassidy

I love Paulina's art work. Please take a moment to check out her website. Prices for her prints are very reasonable. I'll be purchasing some prints soon to add to my collection of fairy/witch prints.

This print is available on her web site. It's a 5x7 giclee print on enhanced paper. The cost is only $8. I receive no compensation for any of her sales. I just thought my Hallowe'en friends might like to check out her stuff....

Carlos

Here's my little chihuahua, Carlos. My cousin took this pic and I love what she did with the yellow flower. His eyes say all that needs to be said about him - sweet and a little shy. He's one of the best things that's happend to me in a long time.

I'm here.....

It's taken some time to get this blog going. I was supposed to follow/mirror my Etsy store of the same name. Nothing is in the store yet, I'm still creating. But, I hope to at least have a few pictures up soon. I've come across some beautiful Halloween blogs and am beginning to follow them. I think instead of this blog mirroring my store, I'll keep it for things I'm interested in and share what I hope will interest you!
