Mid-Year Halloween Blues.....

I am longing for Halloween. What do I do to get myself out of a funk? I have photos from a Salem, MA vacation that I took too many years ago that I can look at....again (I'm so longing to go back there but, that's another blog post!). A good ole Hallween movie? I feel it's sacreligious to watch Halloween movies before October. I tell myself that autumn will be here soon enough and to enjoy the present seasons as they each have their magic and bring their own gifts to the earth.

But, geez, I'm aching for pumpkins, witches, falling leaves, bats, spiders, monsters and haunted houses! I guess I could get on with some Halloween crafting...knit something in orange maybe?

Anyone out there feel the same way? What do you do to cure your Halloween blues?

  1. I feel exactly the same! I have been indulging in hot apple cider every day and working on fall/halloween art. Glad I am not alone out there!

  2. I read this post just as I was beginning to experience those same feelings. I find that my longing for Halloween begins at this time of year, mid-spring, as the weather warms up here and I spend more time outside. My solution is to spend time, as I relax in the sun on the deck, contemplating ideas for this year's yard display. I think I'll start today. :)

  3. I love autumn and Halloween. I've also always wanted to visit Salem, sadly I don't think I'll ever get. I'd love to see your photos if you ever put them on your blog.

I like to do Halloween crafting all year round and most of my dolls houses are set up with witchy themes so if I get the Halloween blues I can go and play with them. It's never too early to start planning for this year's Halloween.

  4. Summer is my least fave. season and while we're not there yet, I feel the crowds, the external world and the heat all opposite Samhain to me at least. I love watching Practical Magic and pinning on Pinterest Halloween images. And it's always great to plan this upcoming Halloween party, if you have one or to attend one. Time for another Halloween Blog party, I say. Like Christmas in July, we need a Halloween in Spring event!

  5. I feel that way practically the day after Halloween:)
We have a mid year Halloween party usually, complete with movies and theme snacks.
    Have a great week.
