I've always liked buttons but, until recently I haven't done anything about it. I saw some pics on Pinterest and got some ideas for button jewelry. I had some buttons at home but, I needed more. So, I took a trip to the local antique shop determined to find a jar of buttons. I couldn't believe I found I found a jar of buttons! Here are some projects that I've made so far:
A white button bracelet. I recently added a heart charm from a necklace that I didn't wear much anymore.
This is one of my favorites so far. Most of the plain buttons are from the jar I made and some are new from the fabric store.
I made these buttons from an old skirt.
More button fun to come! Stay tuned!
Beautiful necklaces Joane! I certainly have enough buttons to make some, think I will try, thanks for the info! (also, plumfieldhousegardens)
ReplyDeleteI simply LOVE buttons---have about six jars, I think. A couple from yard sales, a couple from Goodwill, and the others are inherited from my Mammaw, who NEVER left a button on a garment, purse, glove, hat or shoe that was about to be re-made or discarded.
ReplyDeleteThere are also some jars and baggies of earrings---mostly those clumpy old kind that weight down your ears with great clusters of pearls and crystals in forty different colors. And I'll never do anything but admire them, but admire them, I do. I even took one rainy afternoon, a couple of muffin pans and some little bowls, and sorted most of them by colors---that was such a restful, contemplative time that I recommend the same for you, should you need one. I may mix my own again sometime when I'm feeling stress.
Glad to see you pop up on the sidebar!!
