A Crow at my Window...for real!

What does this mean? I gotta share this because I think it has meaning and I'd like to know what everyone thinks. I'm at work, covering the reception area, which I don't usually do. The regular gal is out due to surgery. So I'm going about my business and I hear a "peck, peck, peck" at the window of our third floor office building. I turn to see a very large crow (I think it was a crow as its tail was more fan shaped but, it was a big black bird) at the window. The crow was cawing for awhile and was walking across the roof of the building. I got up to take a closer look at it through the window. It did not fly away, it just walked around the roof from one side to the other. It stayed there for a few minutes then flew to a lamp post and stayed there for about 5-10 minutes. During the time the elevator door opened but, no one was there! The whole thing feels kind of spooky. The crow has now flown away but, I think it was trying to tell me something. I would love to hear anyone's interpretation of this mystical happening.

  1. Crows have different meanings to different cultures. Some Native Americans consider them to be a trickster (like Coyote). While others believe that Crow made the World. In Celtic beliefs, the Crow is a harbinger of death.
I have also read that where crows congregate, the veil between the worlds (our reality and the realm of Magick) is quite thin.

  3. Oh! I find this story exhilarating! I love when elusive creatures seem to walk right into our lives and just say, "Hi" leaving our jaws dropped, hearts pounding, mind racing and often our mouths turned up at the corners.
I had a thought on what it could mean, I was thinking something along the lines of welcoming new opportunities and then I went and grabbed my handy-dandy "Animal Speak" book. The keynote for Crow: The Secret Magic of Creation is Calling. Looks like you have some meditating to do! What a lovely experience on its own. An unexpected visit.

  4. I would also look to see if a new Goddess is claiming you. I always look upon them as good luck as they are the totem of my Matron
