A New Life

Made my final trip to Henderson, Nevada on Thursday night. My sister came with me and the dog. We made it in 9 hours, not bad as we only stopped 3 times. I am feeling a little lonely. A new place to live, a new town, a new job, finding new friends. It's a little overwhelming even though we've been planning this move for the last 2 years. The emotion of everything hit me when we arrived on Friday morning and I had a bit of a meltdown. Couldn't help thinking, "oh my god, what did I do? I've moved away from everything I know and love. Maybe this was a mistake." I had a few tears (well, more than a few)  but, I'm thinking and hoping all will be ok once we settle into a routine. I hope.

  1. They say that change is a good thing. It is frightening - this I know first hand. But it's important to try and infuse a little magic where ever you go and in whatever you do. Much good luck and love you in this new life!

  2. As someone who has moved several times, I can completely relate to your feelings. And it will take some time to feel "at home" in your new home. But it will happen. Get to know your new surroundings and seek out the things you enjoy.

  3. I know the feeling, having left all of my family and friends in California and moved to South Carolina...feels like the other side of the world sometimes. But such a wonderful new beginning! I still have so much to explore here it feels new and fun after 5 years. Good luck :)

  4. As someone who packed up and moved many miles from home just a year ago, I can totally sympathize with your feelings. I think I cried pretty frequently for nearly a month, partially because it was so sudden and I wasn't quite ready but mostly because it was new and honestly, terrifying. Now, a year later, I still get a bit homesick from time to time and certainly miss my friends and family but am enjoying the experiences and adventures that this move has allowed me to have.

I just know you'll settle in and begin to embrace the change soon enough. Best of luck and much love, may all of your new beginnings be joyful!
